This book definitely accomplished this goal. While reading at times was heavy with information and definitely academic, this essential book made the "common threads" clear with Gethin's thorough /5(12). Isn't that the book that is almost never recommended by michael_dorfman? It is, indeed! For those, like myself, he recommended it to but had not the opportunity to purchase it, here it is. I couldn't find An Introduction to Buddhism, however. Have you read it? I have not. I found it last night. Isn't it a bit theravada-centric, from the outline?
